Insight Asia-Pacific 2024

We’re excited to announce that Insight Asia-Pacific 2024 will be returning as a live event in 2024 at the University of Queensland, Australia. We’re delighted to welcome The University of Queensland as our 2024 co-hosts.

Insight Asia-Pacific is a free, two-day event for library professionals to gather to discuss the role of resource lists and how to drive the usage of your library products alongside other key topic areas within your institution. There will be lots of time for networking, discussions, sharing best practice and hearing from us about our vision for Technology from Sage moving forwards.

We’ll be releasing more information soon, but for now register your interest below.

Reviews are central to all of us in libraries and this is an opportunity for us to come together to discuss. Bex will be sharing a bit about what they are doing at Deakin and then opening the floor for you to all share your processes and take away ideas and changes you may want to make.

In November 2023 we released part 3 of our Librarian Futures report – Librarian Skills Landscape. In this session Nicola will provide you with an overview of those findings and some steps you may like to take and consider.

Technology from Sage is focused on how we can help you get the most from the resources that you are paying for as a library, reading lists point a student to their required reading and where to access from in the library, but have you thought about how a student can access when they are doing independent research? This session will introduce you to one of those ways.

10:50-11:20 – Indigenising the Curriculum with Reading Lists, Kia Owens

At UQ Library we’ve been developing a set of resources to assist academics with their efforts in Indigenising their curriculum. As a part of this project we created a reading list in Talis Aspire to be used as a jumping-off point for academics to easily find and procure resources for their courses.

We have all seen the launch of chatgpt and this is an area that Technology from Sage have been exploring, and working on over the past few months and we want to take the opportunity to share the work we have done and hope to show you where you can explore within your own library.

14:00-14:30 – Advanced MIS, Power BI, Tableau and ChatGPT

Its hard to believe it’s been just over a year since ChatGPT was introduced, seemingly changing everything overnight. From coding to creating session blurbs, ChatGPT is already being used in numerous aways across many different industries. Please join the TAUG representatives as we discuss some of the ways we use ChatGPT and other AI systems in our own roles and outline the pros and cons of this constantly evolving technology.
