When we asked students how their library supports their studies, just 34% reported that libraries help them find resources and only 24% of students reported that librarians taught them about resources (Librarian Futures Part II, 2023). Research into librarian-patron relationships consistently shows that students are not aware of the full extent of services offered by the academic library, instead thinking of it as little more than a building and a collection. This could well be one of the factors contributing to perceptions of the diminishing importance of the librarian to the patron experience.
In this webinar, we’ll be joined by librarians and thought leaders to discuss how librarians can raise the profile of the library, and maximize the visibility of collections, resources, and librarian support. You’ll learn actionable strategies to advocate for library services, integrate library resources into students’ academic journeys, utilize learning technologies to boost the library’s presence, and leverage digital platforms to connect with your student community.
